The proud new owner of someone's trash!

So you might notice that it is clean up week if you were to come visit anywhere in my hometown this week. Everyone has tons of trash out on the curb – it is the one time of the year the city will come by and take anything away for you. It brings out a LOT of scavengers.

I never thought I would be one of those scavengers, but tonight that changed. I was out for a slow bike ride just around the neighborhood when something caught my eye. It was a decent looking bike in someones pile of crap on the curb. I checked it out and it seemed to be in pretty good shape so I figured why not. I pedaled home with this new bike by my side (Riding a bike and hauling another along side is actually pretty easy).

The bike is a Peugeot something or another. I don’t know what exact model it is but I do know that the Peugeot brand is usually thought of as a really good bike. A lot of people on the bike forums that I read really like those bikes. I’ve posted pictures to see if anyone can tell me more about the bike.

Let me know if you catch any decent bikes in clean up week piles. A lot of people throw out good stuff that just needs a little tune-up to get back into riding shape. This one will be ridable with new tires and tubes which could probably be had for $20! I’d wouldn’t mind picking up a fully rigid (no suspension) mountain bike if the price were right (FREE)!

you just cleaned out your garage so you could get more bikes didn’t you?

That thing looks nice. Hope I can find something like that too.

@bierwoman – why else would I clean out the garage?

@Joe – thanks. I’m sure if you put the time into it when they clean out over there across the river you will have no problem finding something! Thrift stores are always a good option too. I bought the LeSchwartz for $15!
