Marathon Results

This past weekend I participated in my 2nd marathon – this time as part of a relay team. We were “Our drinking team has a running problem”!

We showed up at BSC at 6:15 in order to catch a bus down to Pioneer Park. The race stated at 7:30am. I was running the last of 5 legs of the relay – so my run didn’t start until somewhere close to 11am. It was fairly cold out for a September day and the waiting around really sucked.

Our team time was 3:53:27 but they unfortunately didn’t time each individual leg of the relay so I don’t know what my running time was. I ran the last 4.5 miles of the race. I was successful in my goal of not letting anyone pass me!

The relay was fun and we will have to do it again. If my team decides to do a relay in Fargo next year we might have to break up into 2 teams because the Fargo Marathon has 4 person team relay. Assuming everyone from this team wants to have a go in Fargo I may be looking for more runners to make up 2 teams. Keep it in mind….

And just for the hell of here, here is a close up of me coming to the finish line. I look like I was really into it here. This was my last 200 yards sprint for no real reason. I had already passed the only person that was ahead of me. I guess I was intent on getting 10 or 20 seconds cut off our time. Being that it was near 4 hours I don’t know what my rush was….

    Great job team!

Looks like we can field either 4 person or 2 person teams for the Fargo Marathon.

    I’ll be there running something.

I’m pretty sure you won’t have to talk too hard to get me to run again. I’d like to do both Fargo and Bismarck next year. Not sure if I’d do anything else. Maybe relays in Fargo and the half marathon in Bismarck?

And I will get new shoes this time!
