Am I becoming a Vikings fan?

As most of you probably know, I’m not the biggest fan of American football. The Kansas City Chiefs are my favorite team. It is a tough time to be a Chiefs fan. The Arizona Cardinals have always been my NFC team – which has always been rough – until last year. But tonight I was kind of excited to see the Viking and Packers play on Monday Night Football. I’ve never really cheered much for the Vikings, but tonight for some reason I was just getting into it.

I really like Jared Allen, but that little thing he does after a sack is kinda weird. I guess he is good enough and tough enough to do whatever the hell he wants though. He could get up and do a little tap dancing I suppose. At least it isn’t as long as Tito Ortiz’s gravedigger celebration. That is like a whole one man play he puts on after a victory.

Uh oh, the Packers are gonna come back and make it a game now. I guess I gotta go cheer for my new 3rd favorite American football team.

Holy Crap – A Super Bowl I'm excited for!

Arizona CardinalsThe last time I really was even cheering for one team or the other in the Super Bowl was probably 2003. That was only because I’m a Chiefs fan so I had to cheer against the Raiders. Luckily the Raiders got their butts kicked by the Buccaneers. The last time I actually liked a team in the Super Bowl was probably 1993. I was young and stupid and really liked the Cowboys. Everyone became a Cowboys fan after that which really turned me off. I’ve been cheering for the Chiefs and Cardinals ever since.

So this year the Cardinals made it to the Super Bowl (and will win it). I’m actually excited to watch a Super Bowl. I don’t even remember the last Super Bowl I watched all the way through. I’ve done Super Bowl parties – but that was usually just an excuse to party. Now I actually want to have a Cardinals party. I don’t think I know any other Cardinals fans – or any Steelers fans though. Is anyone else excited about either of these teams? Where is the Super Bowl party gonna be?
