being addicted to danactive is a real bitch

April 11, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been without danactive for about 3 days before this morning. I wake up this morning feeling like crap, headache and sore throat. Is that a coincidence that this happens a few days after running out of danactive, or are there addictive drugs put into danactive or does the stuff just work that well?

I stocked up on my way home from work today, so now i’m good for a little over 2 weeks!

Addictions are a bitch

March 26, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I used to be addicted to pizza, the I was addicted to chewy sweet tarts, I guess there was that whole cigarette thing too. Luckily those addictions are all gone today. The pizza addiction shows it ugly head every once in a while, but it has been a real long time since I’ve taken part in either of the other two. But now I have a new addiction, thanks to my son Luke. Here is is after swigging down the entire bottle of DanActive, all 3.3 ounces of it. He started and then got me started. That is some good stuff, but be warned, you can’t swig only one.

Should legal drugs be taxed?

January 18, 2007 · 3 Comments

Yesterday I argued that marijuana should be legalized and I was thinking about that a little bit more after I posted that yesterday.

You often hear parents tell their children “don’t take candy from strangers”. I suppose parents tell their children that to protect them from strangers. Some wacko could be handing out poisoned candy, or using the candy as bait. Either way, it ends up bad for the kid that takes the candy. Its too bad that someone would get some sick twisted enjoyment of doing something like that, but it happens.

Now imagine that same scenario, except we are the children, and the lawmakers of our country are the parents, and drug dealers are the stranger. Laws tell us not to take drugs from strangers.

In both cases the parent figure know that the child figure wants the product and will eventually get it one way or the other. In one case, the parent figure can offer the child figure the product in a safe manner, by going to the store and buying some candy, paying their taxes on the candy and going about their day. In the other case the child HAS to get it from the stranger.

So not only should it be legalized, the parent figure in this analogy has the duty to do if they really have our saftey and well being in mind.  I don’t beleive that is their main concern, so this really is pointless….

Should Illegal Drugs Be Taxed?

January 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Time Magazine has an article about Tennessee taxing illegal drugs. Sounds crazy to me, or an I crazy, what do you think?

Here is just a little taste of this article:

The penalty for not having a stamp can exceed 10 times the original cost — and the Department of Revenue concedes that the tax was instituted with the expectation that most dealers won’t buy the stamp. “Dealers can do it either way,” says Assistant Commissioner for Operations Sam Chessor. “But in reality, the payoff for us is going to be on the back end, not the front end. “

And what a payoff: since the tax was enacted in 2004 it has netted Tennessee $3.5 million in extra revenue, 75% of which goes directly to the enforcement agencies that carry out the drug busts.

So lets just think about Marijuana for a second. Why Not Legalize it, then:

  • leaglly tax, probably make a lot more than that $3.5 million (a lot of people like to smoke)
  • put that money towards something other than drug busts (cause you don’t need to bust it anymore)
  • make it safer to use (government agency FDA or whatever regulates the drugs sold)
  • make it safer to buy/sell (when was the last time you heard of someone getting shot over a miller lite deal gone wrong?)
  • kick back and relax for a while!

really, why not?
