but i fell asleep early and had a weird dream. i forgot what it was about other than some mexican dudes throwing bricks at me, then Hungus showed up, smoked a cigarette and made everything good.

WordPress update

I’m finally going to update a wordpress installation. I’ve installed it probably a hundred times, maybe now have 10 sites running wordpress, and have never updated an installation. Its gonna happen right here later tonite or tomorrow or maybe i should only commit to sometime this weekend. I guess upgrading WordPress is something I should get used to doing.
if the site dies in the near future, you’ll know why…….

backup website

well you may have noticed this website appeared to be dead earlier today for a couple of hours. all of my websites were dead for a couple hours. suddenly all of my databases were completely gone, but they magically showed up later and everything appears to be good now.
this made me think about ditching my current host and using wordpress.com for my many different blogs (i have too many). so the backup kidpurple blog can be found here:
http://kidpurple.wordpress.com
Actually any of my wordpress blogs can be found by adding wordpress.com after the domain name. EX: http://blogName.com –> http://blogName.wordpress.com. it really is that easy!
too damm many blogs

i was just doing some website stuff today and did a quick count of the blogs that i own/operate/manage or plan to do so in the future. several of them are very young and don’t have much on them yet, some will survive and live on, some will be forgotten about very soon.
so the count was 12. thats a lot of blogs, and i was including this one. i’m curious to know how many of my other blogs the loyal KP readers could name. if you were able to find half of them i’d be impressed. remember this is only blogs that i’m counting. this does not include sites like http://nashvillepredators.net which i just set up last nite. That should give anyone a good start on getting to half of those blogs.
I had that Nashville Predators domain name for a long time and figured I’d set it up and link to something else that I’d rather have people at. I also have set up similar sites:
it is all going to be part of a new years resolution i’m going to make at the end of the year. make some money with contextual advertising. I don’t know what a realistic goal will be, but I’m thinking $1000 in my first year of really trying to get this to work. Then in 2008 I should have some experience, maybe my goal will be $10,000.
